    About

    Bradford Dementia Hub

The Bradford Dementia Hub was commissioned by Bradford Council in July 2023 and is a partnership between mental health and wellbeing provider, Community Links, and Bradford based community support service, Khidmat Centres.

Bradford Dementia Hub works to ensure that people in Bradford have access to a wide range of dementia information and advice to help them to manage their condition and live well with dementia.

This page outlines what we offer and our key aims.

    Who is the service for?

Bradford Dementia Hub is for anyone in Bradford affected by dementia.

We support adults of any age in Bradford diagnosed with dementia, as well as their family, friends, and carers.

    What we offer:

    Information and Advice:

We offer information and advice throughout your dementia journey. We will support you whilst you wait for a diagnosis. We will guide you to the best support services that can meet your needs. We can support you to identify what financial support is available to you and access services who can help with completing applications for this.

We offer one to one appointments with you and your loved ones. Appointments can be at a community session. You can have an appointment on the phone. You can have a home appointment.

    Community Sessions:

    Our aims:

Supporting people to live well with dementia

Bradford Dementia Hub aims to support and empower clients to be as independent as possible and continue to live their lives to the fullest.

We aim to work with individuals’ loved ones, carers, friends, and families to offer well rounded support to improve the lives of all those affected by dementia.

    For more information, visit Carers.

    Inclusion and accessibility

Offering an accessible and inclusive service is at our core. We aim to reach diverse communities including the South Asian, Indian, Middle Eastern, and Eastern European, ensuring our support is culturally appropriate and tailored to the individual’s support needs.

We aim to increase understanding around dementia, normalise accessing support and reduce negative stigma. Our Community Engagement Workers will work in mosques, temples and community centres so there are different ways to have the service that suits you.

We have several interpreters specialising in local languages, and we are also a member of the Happy to Translate scheme which enables organisations to engage effectively with customers who speak little or no English.

Our partner organisation Khidmat centres bring a wealth of cultural competency and experience in service delivery to minoritised groups. To learn more about Khidmat Centres, visit Our Partners.

Happy To Translate offers tools with practical guidance to enable organisations to provide information and services on an equal basis, overcoming language barriers and improving the experience of the clients. It does not provide interpretation or translation but fills the communication gap between first contact and providing services.
